DRAGOmodbus
Modbus programming and diagnostic program
Current version: 1.4.2
The program DRAGOmodbus can be used to set the Modbus devices from the DMB series. For other DRAGO devices, please use the program DRAGOset. This manual describes the basic operation, but individual parameters depend on the individual device type. For the individual device types, there are corresponding pages that describe exactly the device. The device-specific pages can be found under "Supported devices".
Program functions
- Program for programming DRAGO Modbus devices
- Functions for device diagnostic
- Clear setting of all device properties
- Programming even with installed devices
- Wiring instructions depending on your settings
- Optionally via front interface, Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP (gateway required)
The file menu
Via the file menu you can backup your device database and restore (restore) backed up databases.
The device menu
In the device menu you can add or delete devices in your Modbus segment.
The device configuration can be transferred to the connected device or read from the device.
Additionally you can change the Modbus address of the device.
The diagnostic menu
The Device Diagnostic displays I/O data and status information from the selected device.
In the Modbus Diagnosis you get an overview of the whole Modbus segment from the view of the selected device.
The settings menu
Select the program language in the "Settings" menu
and you define under the item Communication whether you use the front interface, a RS485 converter (RTU) or a gateway with Modbus-TCP.
The help menu
In the help menu you can access our website.
You can access the Modbus manual, where all Modbus parameters and registers for our device types are described.
"About DRAGOmodbus" gives you information about the program.
For the connection at the front of the device you need an interface cable DZU 1201. You only have access to this one device. Select the COM port.
For Modbus RTU you need a standard RS485 converter. Select COM port, baud rate, parity and stop bits. All devices connected to the bus must be set to the same baud rate, parity and stop bits.
For Modbus TCP, enter the Ethernet address of your Modbus gateway and the port used.
Change Modbus address
On the Modbus, each Device must have its own unique address so that the Modbus Master can access the Device functions in a targeted manner.
If you add a device or import it by reading it out, the address is usually set to factory default (Address 1).
A new address for the device can be assigned via the device menu or the context menu in the device tree.
Wiring of the connection terminals
A wiring diagram for the selected device is displayed in the upper right corner. The current setting of the device parameters is taken into account. On this diagram you can see how to connect the selected sensor to the device.
